When buying your Single Trip travel insurance, don't assume that every policy is the same. Your needs  may be different from others, so make sure your Single Trip travel insurance provides the cover that you require. Read the small print, check the level of cover and ensure you are covered for any activities that you want to undertake. Carry your insurance documentation and the 24-hour emergency assistance number on you whilst abroad along with your policy number so you're prepared for every eventuality!

You should not just purchase your Single Trip travel insurance from your travel agent as shopping around could save you money and get you better cover. When you buy a holiday or a flight, you will almost certainly be offered travel insurance to go with it. It is all too easy to say 'yes' and add the cost to the bill, but you are probably better off shopping around yourself and taking out a policy independently.

Single Trip travel insurance can cover you for a wide-range of events when travelling abroad including cancellation, emergency medical expenses outside your home country and curtailment i.e. cutting short your trip.
