Package holidays – getting a late deal

I had never been on a package holiday until last year when I booked a last minute 5 night break away for some winter sun to Tenerife.

I loved how everything was already sorted and paid for. As we landed in Tenerife we jumped on the bus to take us to our hotel, we didn’t have to worry about how much money we had with us, where to get food and drink and if we had any problems a rep was just down at reception; we just settled in and enjoyed the whole holiday.

I am now planning my next package holiday, all inclusive of course, to depart in the next couple of months. So where can I check for the best deals?

Thomson

We used Thomson on our Tenerife holiday and we had no problems so I will certainly check them out this time. They have stores on most high streets if you prefer discussing your holiday and getting someone else to help find the best deal.

I really like their Late Deals page where you can search for departure dates in the next 6 weeks. There are some big discounts to be found and you can search by destination and Thomson rating, making it really easy to drill down on where you want to go and what quality of accommodation to stay at.

Thomas Cook

This is another well-known travel agent who has presence on most high streets. I use them to compare holidays, prices and hotels to Thomson.

When searching for a holiday, they have a deals tab at the top of the page where you can search for holidays that have large discounts such as only show those holidays which have a 50% discount off Winter Sun Holidays. You can also search late deals from certain airports and deals of the week.

If you only have the availability to travel on certain dates you can always do a manual search to find your perfect holiday.

First Choice

This agent is a sister company of Thomson. First Choice only provide holidays that are All Inclusive and recommend Thomson if you are after another holiday type.

First Choice also have a deals tab where you can search for holidays departing in the next 6 weeks. There are quite a few of the same deals that you can find on Thomson but there are some different ones so it is worth looking at both of these sister companies.

Virgin Holidays

I’m sure we have all seen the Virgin Holidays TV advert where you are treated as a VIP so I certainly want to see what holiday deals they can come up with.

Virgin have a Late deals page where you can try and get a cheap deal but I find all package deals come up more expensive than the other websites. However, Virgin do offer quality and you know you will always pay that little bit more for a Virgin Holiday.

I can’t wait to book my next holiday, writing this blog has certainly made me more eager to put a deposit down sooner rather than later!

Have fun finding your dream All Inclusive holiday for 2014.
